Stephanie Khan (12-0, 3 KOs) won against Holly Holm (34-3-3, 9 KOs) by unanimous technical decision, thus defending her WBA lightweight world title. This fight was one of the main events of the evening in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
The fight was stopped in the seventh round after Khan sustained a cut on her forehead from an accidental headbutt. The doctor decided to stop the fight, so the scorecards at the time of the stoppage were taken into account.
Khan won almost every round thanks to her speed. The judges scored the fight 68-65, 69-65, and 69-64. This was the 44-year-old Holm's third professional loss, as she has been trying to return to boxing since June of last year after a twelve-year hiatus.
