Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez and Terence Crawford are getting ready for their big fight on September 13 at Allegiant Stadium. The match has got everyone talking, but there's more going on behind the scenes.
Mauricio Sulaiman, the president of the World Boxing Council (WBC), won't be allowed in the ring. The UFC, who's running the show, wants their own boss, Dana White, to hand over the belt to the winner. But Sulaiman's not having it. He said:
"As long as you have two or three security guards there in the corner to get me out, because I'm going to get in the ring. Let's see what happens."
Sulaiman plans to jump in anyway, which might cause some drama on fight night.
There's also a problem with how fans in Mexico will watch the fight. For the first time in Canelo's 16-year career, it won't be on free TV there. Netflix got the rights this time, and Canelo's not happy about it. He explained:
"It was a mishandling they did there because, obviously, in my contract I always try to have the rights for Mexico so that people can enjoy them for free. It was bad communication between them that in the end took me between the legs, but hopefully it will not happen again."
Canelo's always made sure his Mexican fans could watch his fights for free. This time, something went wrong with the deal.
The fight between Canelo and Crawford is still the one everyone wants to see this year. But these issues with who'll be in the ring and how people will watch it are adding extra spice to the build-up.
