Terence Crawford and Canelo Álvarez are getting ready for a big fight in Las Vegas on September 13. The match has got people talking because Crawford's moving up two weight classes to take on Canelo.
Ryan Garcia, who used to fight at lightweight, doesn't think Crawford will win. He said:
"Bud's going to do good. He's going to do good, but I don't think he's going to win."
Garcia says Crawford's a great fighter and one of the best. He can box and he can hit hard. But Garcia's seen Crawford get hit with some big shots. He thinks Crawford might be trying to do too much by moving up in weight to fight Canelo.
Crawford's known for being really good at boxing. He's got great conditioning and he's smart in the ring. But he'll have to deal with being smaller than Canelo and not having as much power.
Crawford's trainer, Brian McIntyre, wants to take advantage of Canelo slowing down in the later rounds. But Canelo's strong, hits hard, and can take a punch. He'll probably weigh in at the top end of the super-middleweight limit.
Some other boxers are worried about Crawford moving up in weight. Regis Prograis thinks weight classes exist for a reason. Abel Sanchez is concerned Crawford might not be as strong or have as much stamina at the higher weight.
The fight's going to be a big deal. It'll come down to who's more skilled, who can adjust better during the fight, who hits harder, and who can handle the pressure.
If Garcia's right, Crawford might be in trouble. But if he's wrong, Crawford could make boxing history. We'll have to wait until September 13 to find out.
