Oleksandr Usyk (24-0, 15 KO) appealed to the World Boxing Organization (WBO) asking to postpone his obligations to Joseph Parker (36-3, 24 KO).

As a result, the WBO reached a partial compromise with the undisputed heavyweight champion. The Ukrainian requested an additional 90 days to make a decision, which will total 120 days, as both parties were already given a month for negotiations last month. The WBO ultimately rejected the initial request, agreeing instead to grant an additional 30 days.

"Joseph will fight in his next bout for the WBO title, whether against Usyk or someone else when the title becomes vacant," recently stated New Zealand promoter Frank Warren.

Therefore, if Usyk wants to maintain his status as the undisputed champion, he will have to fight Parker. If he chooses another, more lucrative option, he will be left with only three of the four championship belts.
