Oleksandr Usyk Reveals Surprising Stance on Joseph Parker Bout: "It's Not About the Money"

Usyk's request comes at a time when the heavyweight division is on fire. The Ukrainian boxer, now 38, has had a great run lately. He beat Tyson Fury twice in 2024 and knocked out Daniel Dubois in the fifth round at Wembley Stadium last year.

After taking out Dubois, Usyk made it clear he's not ready to hang up his gloves. He's still fighting for his place in the record books and because he loves the sport.

Now, the WBO has ordered Usyk to defend his title against Joseph Parker. Parker's earned his shot at the big time. He's won six fights in a row since 2022, with his last win being a second-round TKO over Martin Bakole.

"Usyk's team said he's got an injury," Warren explained. "But it could just be a way to buy more time to make a decision."

We've seen something like this before. Back in 2024, the IBF took Usyk's belt away when he chose to fight Fury again instead of facing Dubois.

Parker might not be as well-known as some other heavyweights, but he's proven he deserves a title shot. He's bounced back strong since losing to Joe Joyce in 2022.

As for Dubois, he's shown great resilience since losing to Usyk in 2023. He's fought his way back into the mix and is looking sharp.

The heavyweight division is heating up, and fans are eager to see what Usyk will do next. Will he face Parker, or does he have other plans? We'll have to wait and see.
