Canelo Alvarez and Terence Crawford are set to face off in a super-fight between modern greats. The undisputed super-middleweight championship will be on the line when the two meet at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas on Saturday, September 13.

Alvarez comes into the fight fresh off a unanimous decision victory over William Scull in Riyadh on May 3. That win kicked off his second reign as undisputed world champion at 168lbs, making him the first fighter in boxing history to achieve this feat twice. Canelo has been competing at super-middleweight since 2018, having moved up from 160lbs. He's racked up notable victories against Callum Smith, Jermell Charlo, and Gennady Golovkin.

Crawford, the 37-year-old from Omaha, will make his debut at 168lbs for this fight. He's no stranger to changing weight classes and succeeding. In 2017, he became the undisputed super-lightweight champion by defeating Julius Indingo. Last July, he stopped Errol Spence Jr in the ninth round in Las Vegas to claim the undisputed welterweight title. Crawford briefly moved to super-welterweight in August, and now he's taking on an even bigger challenge.

If Crawford wins, he'll make history as the first male fighter to capture an undisputed championship in three weight classes. It's a tall order, but not an impossible one. Boxing legend Evander Holyfield found success moving up weight classes during his career.

Speaking of Holyfield, the former undisputed cruiserweight and heavyweight champion shared his thoughts on the upcoming bout in an interview with Fight Hub TV. He favors Canelo in the matchup.

"It's gonna be hard to beat Canelo. He's real basic but a good fighter."

The fight promises to be a clash of styles and a true test of Crawford's abilities as he moves up to face an established super-middleweight in Canelo. Alvarez's recent performances have shown he's still at the top of his game, while Crawford's dominance across weight classes suggests he's ready for the challenge. Boxing fans worldwide will surely be tuning in to see how this super-fight unfolds.
