Oscar De La Hoya, a legendary boxer turned promoter, thinks Davis will win by knockout if the fight happens. He shared his thoughts in an interview with Ring Champs With Ak & Barak.
"Davis takes more risk, goes forward more, and has more power. Stevenson fights more on his back foot, fights tall, and throws one, two punches. I see a brutal knockout for Davis."
Davis holds the WBA lightweight title. He's beaten tough opponents like Ryan Garcia, Rolly Romero, Mario Barrios, and Leo Santa Cruz. But in March, he had a surprising draw against Lamont Roach. They planned a rematch for August, but now it might not happen.
Stevenson, the WBC lightweight champ, just had his best fight yet. He beat William Zepeda by unanimous decision, looking much better than in his previous fights against Josh Padley and Artem Harutyunyan.
Former welterweight champ Shawn Porter also has thoughts on this potential fight, but we don't know what he thinks yet.
If Davis's rematch with Roach falls through, we might see Davis vs Stevenson sooner than expected. It's a fight that could settle who's the best in the lightweight division.
