Davis first mentioned retiring before his fight with Frank Martin in June 2024. Now, the situation looks even less clear. He's said to be tired of boxing altogether.
His last fight against Lamont Roach Jr. wasn't his best showing. Meanwhile, Shakur Stevenson keeps calling him out through the media. Fans want to see these two face off, but that might not happen if Davis walks away.
Rick Glaser, a boxing agent with inside information, shared some news on social media. He said Davis plans to retire because he's had enough of boxing. Glaser thinks Davis won't fight again until he needs money. He claims to have heard this from trustworthy sources.
"Davis is retiring because he is supposedly fed up with boxing," Glaser wrote. He added that Davis "won't fight again until his money runs low."
But not everyone agrees with this report. Kenny Ellis, one of Davis' trainers, called it "fake news" when he heard about it.
