Manny Pacquiao says he should've won against Floyd Mayweather Jr. in their fight from May 2015. The former eight-division world champion believes he was more active and threw more punches during the bout.
Mayweather, often called one of the greatest boxers ever, won the fight by unanimous decision. He unified the WBC, WBA, and WBO world welterweight titles in what was dubbed the "Fight Of The Century" in Las Vegas.
Pacquiao recently shared his thoughts on the fight with Fight Hub TV:
"What I remember is like I wanted a good fight, fight toe-to-toe like that but he's running, but I thought I won the fight. I mean I threw a lot of punches even though he's moving around, I can't imagine why I lost that fight."
Mayweather's victory over Pacquiao added to his impressive list of wins, which includes triumphs over Canelo Alvarez and Oscar De La Hoya. The American boxer remained undefeated throughout his 21-year professional career, capturing world titles in five weight divisions.
ESPN reported the official result as a unanimous decision in favor of Mayweather. Despite Pacquiao's claims, the judges' scorecards told a different story on the night.
Pacquiao, now 46, returned to the ring last weekend against Mario Barrios, the current WBC world welterweight champion. The fight ended in a majority decision draw at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
The Filipino boxing legend plans to continue his career despite his age. He's eyeing potential fights with Rolando 'Rolly' Romero and WBA world lightweight champion Gervonta Davis.
