Chris Eubank Sr Drops Bombshell About Son's Rematch With Conor Benn: "It's Not About Money"

Eubank Jr and Benn fought a tough battle last time. They both ended up in the hospital, with Eubank Jr staying longer. The fight happened at 160lbs, and Eubank Jr could only add 10lbs on the morning of the fight.

Now, they're set to do it all again in September. The rules will likely be the same. But Eubank Sr isn't happy about it. He shared his thoughts on his YouTube channel.

"Unfortunately, the reporters, the journalists, are not doing their job. They are dangerous and they are reckless."

Eubank Sr pointed out that his son will have to drop from 175lbs to 160lbs. There's also a rehydration clause and a $500,000 fine if he's even slightly over weight. He thinks these rules are meant to keep fighters safe, but they're not being followed properly.

"If the Boxing Board of Control do not do what they're supposed to do, which is to block fights from happening which do not abide by the weights and the rules. You are baboons!"

The former champion didn't hold back in his criticism of boxing promoters either.

"What I am here to do is to protect, and they are uneducated against those, what did my son call them? Scum buckets. If that is the term he gave to promoters, he is not wrong. They are treating us like we are meat. They are butchering us."

Despite his concerns, Eubank Sr knows his son won't back down. He said:

"My son is not going to back down from anything. One, money. Two, the heart."

As for Benn, he plans to be less emotional in the second fight. He'll face challenges fighting in an unnatural weight class against a bigger, more experienced opponent.

The rematch is set for September, but with Eubank Sr's strong words, will it go ahead as planned? We'll have to wait and see.
