Gervonta Davis wants to fight Richardson Hitchins. The Baltimore boxer sent a message to the undefeated IBF world super-lightweight champion: "When I see you be ready."

Davis, 30, has been a force in boxing since turning pro in 2013. He's racked up 30 wins with 28 knockouts. In 2019, he grabbed the WBA world lightweight title by stopping Yuriorkis Gamboa. He's also beaten big names like Ryan Garcia, Leo Santa Cruz, and Jose Pedraza.

On March 1, Davis fought to a majority decision draw against Lamont Roach Jr at the Barclays Center in New York City. The fight ended in controversy. Now, they're set for a rematch on August 16 in Las Vegas.

But Davis seems to have his eyes on a bigger prize. He's calling out Hitchins, the 27-year-old New Yorker who holds the IBF world super-lightweight belt. Hitchins has a perfect 20-0 record since starting his pro career 8 years ago.

Hitchins last fought on June 14 at Madison Square Garden. He stopped George Kambosos Jr in the 8th round with a body shot.

Davis' callout came through a social media exchange. It looks like he's thinking about moving up from lightweight to super-lightweight for this fight.

The boxing world will have to wait and see if this matchup happens. For now, Davis has to focus on his rematch with Roach. That fight could be a real crowd-pleaser.
