Gervonta Davis Abruptly Withdraws From Next Fight, Citing Mysterious "Personal Matter"

Roach says Davis hasn't signed the contract for their fight yet. He thinks Davis is making excuses.

"He knows very well what he is doing. He is trying to justify why he has not fulfilled his part of the deal," Roach said.

Roach doesn't think Davis is scared of him as a person. He believes it's something else.

"I wouldn't say he's afraid of me as a man, but he's afraid of being humiliated. That's his problem," Roach explained.

Fans have come up with their own ideas about what's going on. Some think Davis is playing mind games. Others worry he might not be feeling right, either emotionally or physically. There's concern this could hurt Davis' career if he's not careful.

Davis isn't saying much about all this. He's keeping to himself mostly. He did post one short message on social media: "There's nothing more to say. I'm going for the rematch." But that hasn't cleared things up for anyone.

The rematch will probably still happen, but the build-up has been far from smooth. While Roach is already talking about who he might fight next - maybe the winner of Devin Haney vs Brian Norman Jr. - Davis seems stuck in a weird place, not saying or doing much.

The boxing world is watching closely, hoping Davis will sort himself out before it's too late. Everyone wants to see these two talented fighters go at it again, but right now, things are up in the air.
