Teofimo Lopez and Devin Haney won't fight after all. The two champions were set to clash at a catchweight on August 16 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, but the bout fell through at the last minute.

Lopez and Haney both scored big wins last month in Times Square, New York City. Lopez successfully defended his WBO super-lightweight title against mandatory challenger Arnold Barboza Jr. On the same card, Haney beat former unified super-lightweight champion Jose Ramirez.

After these victories, talks started for a catchweight bout between the two. The fight got reported as agreed, but hours later, Haney's team said Lopez had pulled out.

Haney had originally planned to rematch Ryan Garcia at the end of the year. That fight got cancelled when Garcia lost to Rolando 'Rolly' Romero in an upset.

Oscar De La Hoya, who's not involved with either fighter, shared his thoughts on social media:

"Devin Haney is calling Teo a duck??? More like Teo is SMART to not fight a runner who has less fans than Diddy does."

Lopez, who's 27, hasn't commented on the situation yet. His next move remains uncertain.

Haney might still fight on August 16 in Saudi Arabia. He's waiting for news about a potential new opponent.
