Orie's retirement comes at a time when heavyweight boxing is booming. The division has seen mega-fights over the past 18 months, with stars like Oleksandr Usyk, Tyson Fury, and Daniel Dubois leading the charge.

The young boxer had a promising start. He won gold at the 2022 Commonwealth Games and was set to compete in the 2024 Paris Olympics. Orie even embraced being called the 'next heavyweight superstar'. Earlier this year, he made his pro debut with a points victory over Milos Veletic.

But now, Orie has decided to hang up his gloves and enter the corporate world. In his retirement statement, he expressed gratitude for the memories and experiences he's had:

"I've had incredible memories and unforgettable experiences travelling the world and representing my country on the biggest stages. But over time, my fire and love for boxing have faded. I value clarity and honesty with myself. Even turning professional didn't reignite my passion. I know that to reach the top, you need a deep love for the craft."

Orie thanked his supporters, coaches, teammates, and the staff at GB Boxing. He also acknowledged those who stood by him during his brief professional journey.

Frank Warren's Queensberry Promotions will feel the impact of Orie's departure. The promotion still boasts heavyweight talents like Daniel Dubois, Joseph Parker, Lawrence Okolie, and Fabio Wardley.

Meanwhile, the heavyweight division marches on. Oleksandr Usyk and Daniel Dubois will fight for undisputed heavyweight honors at Wembley Stadium in July.
