Jake Paul Exposes Canelo's True Feelings About Saudi Boxing Kingpin: "He's Scared"

The YouTuber-turned-boxer made these claims during a recent appearance on the MMA Hour program. Paul said Canelo's hefty $300 million contract with Alalshikh is keeping the two from squaring off in the ring.

"They told him that if he fought me, they would cancel his contract. I understand, he had to protect the future of his family. When you invest billions in boxing and you're not the one organizing the biggest events, but there's a guy doing it without putting in a dollar, you'll do whatever it takes to stop him."

Canelo's deal with Alalshikh, the Chairman of Saudi Arabia's General Entertainment Authority, spans two years and covers four fights. Three of these bouts are set to take place in Saudi Arabia.

Paul didn't stop at just accusing Alalshikh of interference. He also took a swing at Canelo's skills in the ring.

"I would have beaten him for sure, he's finished."

The influencer boxer argues that a match between him and Canelo would be a financial knockout for both fighters. He sees himself as a fresh face in boxing promotion, challenging the traditional approach represented by figures like Alalshikh.

Canelo and Alalshikh haven't responded to Paul's claims yet. The situation highlights the growing tension between established boxing circles and new, influencer-led promotion efforts in the sport.
