Canelo lost the IBF belt in September 2024 when he didn't face Scull, who's now the champ. The Cuban fighter has a perfect record of 23 wins and no losses.
While getting ready for the big fight, Canelo's also making moves outside the ring. He's teamed up with luxury clothing brand Amiri as their new global ambassador.
"I'm excited to partner with Amiri and to work with Mike Amiri, a designer I admire and a brand I truly respect," Canelo said.
Mike Amiri, the brand's designer, feels the same way about Canelo.
"Amiri is proud to announce Saúl 'Canelo' Álvarez as a global brand ambassador. His dedication to craftsmanship and his commitment to excellence serve as inspiration across cultures around the world," Amiri explained.
The brand sees Canelo as more than just a boxer. They think he's a fashion icon and admire his courage as an athlete. Amiri also works with musicians, filmmakers, and other athletes.
The event in Riyadh will have another exciting fight on the undercard. Jaime Munguía from Mexico will face Bruno Surace from France in a rematch. Their first bout ended with Surace knocking out Munguía in Tijuana. Surace still hasn't lost a fight.
Riyadh Season is organizing this big boxing night. It's shaping up to be a can't-miss event for fight fans around the world.
