The conversation between the two boxers happened after Paul's controversial eight-round fight with Mike Tyson. At that time, Paul made a bold statement about Joshua.
"I want to fight Anthony Joshua because I know that I will f***ing beat Anthony Joshua's ass. He doesn't have a chin, has no skill and he's stiff. I love you Anthony, we're friends, but I want to fight you."
Joshua didn't let this challenge go unanswered. He picked up the phone and called Paul directly. According to Paul, Joshua said:
"I saw you called me out. Let's run it, let's make it happen."
