Larry Holmes, the former heavyweight champion, says he could easily beat Evander Holyfield if they fought when Holmes was at his best.

Holmes, known as "The Easton Assassin," ruled the heavyweight division from 1978 to 1985. He fought 75 times in his career, with his last bout coming in 2002 against Eric 'Butterbean' Esch.

Holyfield, nicknamed "The Real Deal," made history as the first boxer to become undisputed champion in both the cruiserweight and heavyweight divisions. He defended his heavyweight crown three times and beat big names like Holmes and George Foreman.

In a recently resurfaced interview, Holmes talked about how a fight between him and Holyfield would've gone if they'd met in their primes.

"He would have been pretty easy for me to fight if I was 100%."

Holmes pointed out that when they actually fought, he was 42 years old and had blurry vision. He also noticed that Holyfield's corner was smarter than he expected.

The former champ believes he was a much better fighter in the early to mid-1980s when he was at the top of his game. After losing his title in 1985, Holmes tried a few more times to win world titles but couldn't pull it off.

Holyfield's career saw him reach the top of two weight classes. He beat Holmes and Foreman but lost to Riddick Bowe in their first fight.
