Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez thinks Tyson Fury would beat Anthony Joshua if they ever fought. The Mexican boxing star shared his view in a chat with Mail Sports Boxing.
For years, Fury and Joshua were the top dogs in heavyweight boxing. They held world titles at the same time and faced tough opponents like Deontay Wilder and Wladimir Klitschko. But they never got to fight each other before losing their belts.
Oleksandr Usyk changed everything. He beat Joshua twice and then took down Fury twice too. All four fights went the full 24 rounds between 2021 and late last year.
Now, a Fury-Joshua fight is just a dream. Fury called it quits at the end of January with a quick post on social media. He retired as a two-time heavyweight world champion with only one loss on his record. Joshua, also a two-time champ, is still boxing and might face Deontay Wilder, Daniel Dubois, or even Jake Paul next.
When asked about this fantasy match-up, Canelo said:
"It's gonna be a good fight. I don't know, I think Fury has more experience, I think he wins."
Canelo's prediction favors Fury, but he admitted he'd rather see Joshua win. You can watch the full interview on Mail Sports Boxing's social media.
