Chris Eubank Jr and Conor Benn are getting ready for a big fight in April at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Their dads started this rivalry back in the 90s, and now the sons are keeping it going.
Billy Joe Saunders, who beat Eubank Jr over ten years ago, thinks Benn will win by knockout. Saunders won that fight by split decision and kept his British, Commonwealth, and European middleweight titles. He went on to become a world champion at middleweight and super-middleweight.
Saunders shared his thoughts in a recent interview. He said Eubank Jr has looked a bit old lately and doesn't use his jab or footwork well. Saunders also pointed out that Eubank Jr has been in tough fights with opponents who aren't the best.
"If Benn catches Eubank Jr clean and follows up, similar to Liam Smith's shot, he can knock him out."
Eubank Jr has been fighting at 160lbs lately. He's yet to win a real world title, even though he fought at 168lbs for a while. Benn is moving up in weight for this fight. He can box again after a failed drugs test in 2022 stopped their first planned bout.
Tony Bellew, who used to be the cruiserweight world champion, agrees with Saunders. He also thinks the fight will end with someone getting stopped.
The fight was announced recently, and fans are excited to see these two settle their family's old score. It's a big step up for Benn, but Saunders thinks he's got what it takes to win in style.
