Prince Naseem Hamed Delivers Blunt Message to Ex-Champ: "Time to Hang Up the Gloves"

Joshua's recent setback came after a string of impressive wins. He knocked out Robert Helenius, Otto Wallin, and Francis Ngannou in succession. These victories helped him bounce back from two consecutive losses to Oleksandr Usyk in 2021 and 2022.

Now, former boxer and commentator Prince Naseem Hamed thinks it's time for Joshua to hang up his gloves. In a recent interview, Hamed shared his thoughts on Joshua's future:

"Listen, whether he can or he can't, I prefer him not to, he's had his day in the sun, he's done great, he's won amazing world titles, he's defended them, he's earned his dough. Listen he should bow out gracefully and that's it done. When he gets hit on the chin I don't want talk about that right now."

Hamed also commented on the Dubois fight, saying, "I like 'AJ', and I like Ben Davison even more, but the right man won tonight, the right man with the desire."

Despite Hamed's advice, Joshua isn't ready to call it quits just yet. Reports suggest he's considering a rematch with Dubois for the summer. Meanwhile, Dubois, the current IBF heavyweight champion, might also be eyeing a fight with Oleksandr Usyk for the undisputed heavyweight crown.

The heavyweight landscape has shifted dramatically in recent months. Usyk beat Tyson Fury twice in 2024, cementing his status as the undisputed heavyweight champion. Fury, who many expected would face Joshua before retiring, announced his retirement in January.

As Joshua weighs his options, the boxing world watches with interest. Will he heed Hamed's advice and retire, or will he step back into the ring for another shot at glory? Only time will tell what the future holds for the once-dominant heavyweight.
