Carl Froch Urges Heavyweight to Hang Up Gloves: "Your Health Is at Stake"

Froch, who won world titles four times in his 12-year career, knows a thing or two about when to call it quits. He ended his own run in the ring after two big wins against George Groves, capping off one of British boxing's most bitter rivalries.

Now working as a boxing commentator, Froch shared his thoughts on Chisora's career on his YouTube channel 'Froch On Fighting'.

"Derek Chisora will be making his final walk to the ring in his 49th professional fight, I personally think he will stick around for the 50th, I sincerely hope he doesn't – I don't think he should be fighting again. He's had a long [and] hard career, he's been in with some of the best of the best fighters and he's been knocked out a few times as well which ain't good for your health."

Chisora, now 41, has been in the game for 18 years. He's faced off against big names like Tyson Fury, Vitali Klitschko, Oleksandr Usyk, and David Haye. The veteran British heavyweight has also notched up impressive wins over Carlos Takam, Kubrat Pulev, and Joe Joyce.

On February 8, Chisora will step into the ring for his 49th fight against Otto Wallin. Froch thinks this should be Chisora's last bout, but he suspects the fighter will push on to reach 50 fights.

Chisora can look back on his career with pride. He's made a good life for himself through boxing and has gotten plenty of chances since he first laced up the gloves 18 years ago. Even so, it looks like he'll keep going, despite the advice to retire.
