Agit Kabayel, the two-time European heavyweight champion, thinks Tyson Fury will beat Anthony Joshua if they fight. Kabayel's opinion comes from his experience sparring with both fighters.
Kabayel has made a name for himself in the heavyweight division. He's beaten some tough opponents like Kevin Johnson and Pavel Sour. In a big win, he stopped the undefeated Arslanbek Makhmudov. Kabayel also knocked out Frank Sanchez in May 2024.
The German boxer almost got a shot at Fury in 2020. That fight fell through because Fury had to fight Deontay Wilder instead. Kabayel also turned down a chance to fight Martin Bakole in Nigeria.
In a recent chat with Seconds Out, Kabayel shared his thoughts on a potential Fury-Joshua match-up:
"No. I sparred with the two guys. Sparred with Fury, with AJ. This fight is very close but I think when I give you a prediction for the fight, Fury will win the fight."
Both Fury and Joshua have had some tough times lately. Fury lost twice to Oleksandr Usyk. Joshua got stopped by Daniel Dubois in his last IBF title defense.
Fans think Fury and Joshua don't have many other options now. A fight between them could be a big deal for their careers.
Kabayel knows what it's like to face tough opponents. At the Day of Reckoning event in Riyadh, he beat Arslanbek Makhmudov by technical stoppage. Kabayel knocked Makhmudov down several times in that fight.
With his own career on the rise and experience sparring both men, Kabayel's prediction adds an interesting perspective to the potential Fury-Joshua matchup.
