Daniel Dubois Weighs In on Anthony Joshua's Future: "He's Got More Left"

This victory marked a major turnaround for Dubois. He started his career as a much-hyped young heavyweight with serious punching power. But he hit a roadblock when he lost to Joe Joyce, taking a knee due to eye damage and getting counted out. This setback raised questions about his courage and derailed his career for a while.

Dubois didn't give up. He fought back, stopping Jarrell Miller in late December 2023 and knocking out Fillip Hrgovic in June. Then came the big one against Joshua at Wembley.

After beating Joshua, Dubois shared his thoughts on what he'd do if he were in Joshua's shoes. He told Ring Magazine:

"I'd f****ng retire. I'd buy a big old island and retire."

Joshua has kept quiet about whether he'll hang up his gloves. He might have wanted a legacy fight with Tyson Fury, but that's unlikely now that Fury has announced his retirement.

Dubois isn't resting on his laurels. He's set to defend his IBF crown for the second time on February 22 against Joseph Parker, a former WBO champion who's been on a hot streak.

The heavyweight division is heating up. The winner of Dubois vs Parker could get a shot at the undisputed title against Oleksandr Usyk, the current three-belt ruler.

Dubois has come a long way from that loss to Joyce. His win over Joshua at Wembley, as reported by the BBC, shows he's back in the big time. Now, he's looking to cement his place at the top of the heavyweight division.
