The undefeated American boxer, five-weight division conqueror, 38-year-old Terence Crawford (42-0, 31 KO) announced his decision to retire.
Crawford leaves the sport with WBA, IBF, and WBO titles in super middleweight after unanimously defeating Saul Alvarez in September. "Bud" also held the WBC belt, but was stripped of it earlier this month due to non-payment of commissions.
"Every fighter knows that this moment will come. We just don't know when. My whole life I've been striving for something. And it wasn't the belts, money, and titles. This feeling arises when the whole world doubts you, but you continue to stand your ground and prove the opposite.
I fought for my family. I fought for my city. I fought for that kid I was, who had nothing but a dream and a pair of gloves. And I did it the way I felt was right. I gave this sport every breath, every scar, every success, every part of my heart. And I am happily looking forward to the future. The time has come," said Terence in a video released on X.
