Tyson Fury called it quits on his boxing career yesterday. The former heavyweight champ posted a video on Instagram thanking fans and saying he's done with the sport.

But not everyone's buying it. Carl Froch, the retired super middleweight legend, thinks we'll see Fury lace up the gloves one more time.

"I'm not sure that this retirement is official and if he is actually going to stay retired. I think we will see him dance one more time and it will be against Anthony Joshua. It would be a real shame for the boxing fans to not see the 'AJ' Fury fight."

Froch's comments echo what many fans are thinking. They're hoping Fury's announcement is just smoke and mirrors, and that he'll come back for a super fight against Joshua.

It's not the first time Fury's hung up his gloves only to return. The Gypsy King has a habit of retiring and then changing his mind.

Fury's career has been full of big moments. He first grabbed world honours by beating Wladimir Klitschko in 2015. Then he won the WBC belt from Deontay Wilder, beating him in two out of three fights.

But recently, things haven't gone Fury's way. He lost twice to Oleksandr Usyk in 2024 when he was trying to become the undisputed champ.

A fight with Joshua would be huge for both men's legacies. Fans are crossing their fingers that Fury's retirement won't stick and we'll see these two British heavyweights clash in the ring.
