Tony Bellew thinks Tyson Fury won't hang up his gloves just yet. The former world champion boxer believes Fury will step into the ring with Anthony Joshua down the line.
Fury's had a stellar career. He clinched British, Commonwealth, and European titles before shocking the world by dethroning Wladimir Klitschko in 2015. His trilogy with Deontay Wilder was epic, with Fury winning two out of three bouts. He then defended his WBC title against Dillian Whyte and Derek Chisora.
But Fury's recent losses to Oleksandr Usyk for the undisputed heavyweight title have led to calls for his retirement. Some folks reckon he should bow out, given his achievements and the number of times he's been knocked down.
Bellew doesn't buy it. He told The Express:
"I don't think that ship will ever sail. You're telling me you couldn't stick 100,000 in Wembley to watch those two fight? Everyone wants to see it."
Bellew points out that Joshua's always been game for big fights. AJ signed up to face Fury before, but Wilder's arbitration derailed that plan. He's also fought Usyk twice and took on Wladimir Klitschko.
"You have to remember, the only person who has signed up to these fights and hasn't pulled out is Anthony Joshua."
Bellew's convinced the Fury-Joshua showdown will happen:
"It's a mess, really, but 100 per cent that fight will happen one day. It's huge. It's a massive blockbuster event and it will probably go down as the biggest domestic boxing match ever."
There's a catch, though. Bellew reckons the fight might happen when both boxers are past their prime:
"The sad part is that it will be when both are just slightly past their sell-by date, by the looks of it."
Right now, Oleksandr Usyk's the top dog in the heavyweight division. But Joshua's already eyeing a clash with Fury in 2025. The boxing world's waiting to see if these two British heavyweights will finally square off.
