The event got a lot of pushback because of the risks it posed to Tyson at his age. It even had to be put off when Tyson got really sick on a flight. He later said that episode could have killed him.
Despite his lack of experience, Paul went into the fight as the favorite. Many Hall of Fame fighters didn't think much of his skills, but he's known to pack a punch. In his 11 fights before Tyson, he knocked out 7 opponents. His KO of Tyron Woodley, which left Woodley flat on his face, even won ESPN's KO of the Year.
The fight went the full eight rounds, but Tyson couldn't keep up. Paul won by a wide unanimous decision, with Tyson looking outmatched for most of the bout.
After the fight, Tyson talked to FOX Sports Radio about Paul's power.
"I don't remember it, but my body, my chest, stomach and stuff was really sore … Jake punches hard. My body hurt so bad."
This fight marked the end of Tyson's career for good. He confirmed he's hanging up his gloves for the second time.
Paul, on the other hand, keeps moving forward. He's got offers from many current world champions, and there's even talk of him facing Conor McGregor next.
