Retired Heavyweight Icon Mulls Comeback for Fury Showdown: "It's Always Been My Dream"

Fury lost to Usyk in May. The judges gave Usyk a split decision win after he rocked Fury badly in the ninth round. Now, 'The Gypsy King' wants to set things right and take back the titles.

But there's more at stake than just the belts. Turki Alalshikh, who represents Riyadh Season, has a big plan if Fury wins. He wants to bring Wladimir Klitschko out of retirement for a rematch with Fury.

Alalshikh told reporters:

"The result of Tyson vs Usyk, a lot of people are waiting for them. One of them is Dubois. Another is Joshua. At the same time, there is a third person."

That third person is Klitschko. Alalshikh explained his dream scenario:

"I am dreaming of seeing this fight to give chance if he accepts to give Klitschko to give back to be the oldest heavyweight champion ever. To give him the chance. This is perfect. Of course, he won't fight Usyk if he wins because they're two heroes from Ukraine will not fight each other. This is the dream."

Klitschko is 48 now and hasn't fought since 2017 when he lost to Anthony Joshua. But he dominated the heavyweight division for years during what people called the 'Klitschko era'. If he came back and won, he'd break George Foreman's record as the oldest heavyweight champ ever.

Fury and Klitschko have history. Fury ended Klitschko's long reign back in 2015. A rematch would let Klitschko try to get revenge.

But first, Fury must beat Usyk on December 21. If he doesn't, the Klitschko fight won't happen.

There are other options for Fury too. Alalshikh mentioned them:

"Fury has a lot of people that want him in the line. Klitschko, all the people want to see it from 2015 again, and there's also Joshua, which would be the hugest Britain fight ever [against Fury]. Of course, Dubois deserves this chance. Let's see."

Daniel Dubois is now the IBF Champion after Usyk gave up the belt. He just knocked out Joshua in his best win yet. Dubois will fight Joseph Parker on February 22. There were talks about him fighting Klitschko before, but they fell through.

For now, all eyes are on Fury vs Usyk. Their rematch will decide what happens next in the heavyweight division.
