Jake Paul and Mike Tyson are getting ready to step into the ring. The social media star turned boxer will face the former world heavyweight champion this Friday at AT&T; Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
The eight-round bout will air live on Netflix. Each round will last two minutes, giving both fighters a chance to showcase their skills in this unusual matchup.
Tyson, known as "Iron Mike," made history as the youngest world heavyweight champion. He claimed the title when he was just 20 years, 4 months, and 22 days old. But even champions face setbacks. In 1990, Tyson lost to Buster Douglas in Japan, a defeat that shocked the boxing world.
Now, Douglas has shared his thoughts on the upcoming fight. He doesn't see Paul as a real contender and expects Tyson to come out strong.
"Mike is going to be f******g relentless," Douglas told Gambling Zone. "He's looking pretty good. Better than most of the heavyweights out there today."
Douglas thinks Paul needs to make a bold move right from the start. If not, he believes Tyson will take control of the fight.
"Jake needs to go out immediately – and bang – let him know there's something to look out for," Douglas said. "Otherwise it's going to be open target season, and Mike's going to be throwing shots with no worry about what's coming back."
The former champ doesn't think Tyson will hold back. He sees a clear strategy forming.
"I can see Mike going after Paul's body," Douglas explained. "Can he withstand a real body attack? I'm visualising that once Mike gets going, he's going to overwhelm Paul."
Shannon Briggs, another former world heavyweight champion, didn't need many words to sum up Paul's boxing skills. His brief assessment adds to the growing buzz around this unusual matchup.
As fight night gets closer, fans and critics alike are eager to see how this clash of generations will play out. Will Paul's meteoric rise in boxing continue, or will Tyson's experience prove too much?
All eyes will be on AT&T; Stadium this Friday as these two step into the ring, ready to make boxing history.
