Bob Arum Reveals Surprising Pick for Fighter Who 'Outclasses' Terence Crawford: "He's on Another Level"

Bob Arum thinks Canelo Alvarez will beat Terence Crawford if they fight. The boxing business veteran and Crawford's former promoter shared his thoughts on the potential matchup.

Crawford recently moved up to super-welterweight and won the WBA title against Israil Madrimov. This victory made him a champion in four weight classes. Crawford had to work hard for the win, which showed how tough the move up in weight can be.

Now, Crawford wants to move up even further to face Canelo. It's a big jump - about 14 pounds - from where he just fought. Crawford's got an impressive record. He's undefeated in 41 fights over 16 years and four weight classes. He's known for his ability to switch stances and finish fights.

But Arum doesn't think that'll be enough against Canelo. In an interview with Fight Hub TV, he said:

"I think Canelo wipes the floor with him. I love Crawford, I told you when Crawford was fighting Spence that Crawford would beat the hell out of him. But Canelo is a different proposition. It's an interesting fight, but I think there's only one winner. Canelo is used to fighting at a particular level and I don't think that Terence can hurt Canelo, but Canelo can hurt Terence."

Arum got it right when he said Crawford would beat Errol Spence Jr. But he feels Canelo is a whole different challenge. The Mexican boxer hasn't lost at super-middleweight. His only defeats came against Floyd Mayweather at a catchweight and Dmitry Bivol at light-heavyweight.

At first, Canelo didn't seem interested in fighting Crawford. But things might change. There aren't many big fights left for Canelo. If Saudi Arabia's Riyadh Season gets involved, we might see a big offer that could make this fight happen.

Crawford's recent win at super-welterweight was tough. It showed how hard it is to move up in weight. Now he wants to go even higher to face Canelo. It's a big risk, but Crawford's never backed down from a challenge in his career.
