Anthony Joshua, the former heavyweight champion, is making waves with bold statements about his knockout power. The British boxer claims he "ruined the career" of fellow heavyweight Dillian Whyte with a single uppercut.

Joshua's comments come after a tough loss to Daniel Dubois at Wembley Stadium in September. The defeat ended Joshua's bid to become a three-time heavyweight champion, with Dubois stopping him in five rounds.

Despite this setback, Joshua's recent record shows he's still a force to be reckoned with. In March, he knocked out Francis Ngannou in just two rounds. Before that, he scored stoppage wins over Otto Wallin and Robert Helenius. It's the first time since 2017 that Joshua has put together three straight stoppages.

In a recent interview with Boxing News, Joshua didn't hold back:

"I think people underestimate me, they think they can just come and put pressure on me because I am not mentally all that or this. I am a power puncher myself. I break peoples' eye sockets. I broke Wallin's nose and eye socket. Helenius got sparked out. I f***ing ruined Dillian Whyte's career with an uppercut."

Joshua's claim about Whyte refers to their 2015 bout at The O2 Arena in London. Joshua won by knockout in the seventh round, though he faced some tough moments early on.

Contrary to Joshua's statement, Whyte's career didn't immediately nosedive after that loss. He went on to win 11 straight fights. However, Whyte has faced recent setbacks, including stoppage losses to Tyson Fury and Alexander Povetkin.

In August 2023, Whyte failed a drug test, leading to the cancellation of his rematch with Joshua. He bounced back with a win over Christian Hammer in March. Interestingly, Whyte had plenty to say about Joshua's recent loss to Dubois.

Joshua's bold statements seem to be his way of asserting his continued relevance in the heavyweight division. He's clearly eager to remind everyone of his punching power and past achievements as he looks to rebuild his career.
