Dmitry Bivol Reveals Surprising Choice Between Beterbiev and Canelo: "He's The Real Challenge"

Bivol, who outpointed Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez over 12 rounds in 2022, doesn't think his countryman will be an easier opponent. In a recent interview with Matchroom Boxing, Bivol said:

"To be honest I believe that it's the hardest test. Why? Because he's stronger. I know he's physically stronger than Canelo. He has good technique too. Many people talked about his power but they forget about his technique."

Beterbiev's record backs up Bivol's assessment. The 20-0 fighter has knocked out every opponent he's faced, including notable wins over Joe Smith Jr, Callum Smith, Callum Johnson, and Anthony Yarde.

The fight was originally scheduled for earlier this year but got pushed back due to an injury on Beterbiev's part. Now, it's part of a stacked card in Riyadh. Fabio Wardley will defend his British heavyweight title against Frazer Clarke, and Jai Opetaia will put his IBF cruiserweight belt on the line against Jack Massey.

While Beterbiev is known for his brutal power, Bivol brings his own set of skills to the ring. He's unbeaten so far, relying on his footwork and defenses to outmaneuver opponents.

The winner of this bout will hold all four major belts in the light heavyweight division. If Bivol comes out on top, there's a chance we might see a rematch with Canelo. The Mexican star is keen to avenge one of only two losses in his career.

This fight promises to be a clash of styles between two undefeated champions. Bivol's skills and defenses will be put to the test against Beterbiev's power and technique. Boxing fans around the world are eager to see who will emerge as the undisputed light heavyweight champion.
