Anthony Crolla's Surprising Pick for Dixon vs Harper Bout: "Nobody Saw This Coming"

Last weekend, 96,000 fans packed Wembley stadium to watch Anthony Joshua take on Daniel Dubois in an event organized by Riyadh Season. Crolla felt it was fantastic for British boxing but expressed some frustration about potential standalone headline events being combined.

The outcome of the Joshua-Dubois fight caught Crolla off guard. He says:

"I was shocked at the manner of the win. I thought Dubois could possibly win in the second half of the fight, but it was man v boy with the younger Dubois teaching the old dog a lesson."

Despite the loss, Crolla praised Joshua for inspiring a generation and showing tremendous courage. He believes it might be time for Joshua to consider retirement from the sport.

Looking ahead to the Sheffield event, Crolla shared his thoughts on several undercard bouts. He predicts George Liddard will edge out George Davey on points in what could be a close contest. Liddard, from Essex, has moved quickly as a young pro, while Davey is known as a slick southpaw trained by Henry Wharton.

Giorgio Visioli, whom Crolla rates as one of the UK's best prospects, faces Diego Lagos. Crolla expects Visioli to put on a good show and stop his opponent.

Jimmy Sains, described as an all-action, exciting, and heavy-handed fighter, takes on Omir Rodriguez. Crolla believes Sains will end the contest early.

In a highly anticipated bout, Peter McGrail, nicknamed the "Scouse Lomachenko," squares off against Brad Foster. Crolla predicts a points win for McGrail.

The main event pits Rhiannon Dixon, Crolla's trainee, against Terri Harper. Dixon recently won a world title against Carabajal but wasn't satisfied with her performance. Harper is moving down from super-welterweight after a disappointing showing against Sandy Ryan.

Crolla feels confident about Dixon's chances:

"Rhiannon is capable of stopping Harper, hurting her to the head and body. I predict a win for Dixon in this one."

It's shaping up to be an action-packed night of boxing in Sheffield, with compelling matchups from top to bottom of the card.
