Yesterday, "The Monster" defeated TJ Doheny (26-5, 20 KOs), as usual, early. All four championship belts are to be awarded to the Japanese on December 24 in Tokyo, and Sam Goodman (19-0, 8 KOs) is likely to play the role of challenger. The Australian is a mandatory challenger appointed by the IBF governing body.

Inoue plans to come to Las Vegas in April. It is not yet known who his U.S. opponent will be, but another great Japanese fighter, current WBC lightweight champion Junto Nakatani (28-0, 21 KOs), will be part of the evening. All this in the promotion of an interesting Japanese derby in the second half of next year at the huge Tokyo Dome. It was there that the greatest sensation in boxing history took place when James "Buster" Douglas knocked out Mike Tyson in the tenth round on February 11, 1990.
