Chris Eubank Jr Reveals Next Target After Canelo Setback: "That Belt Is Mine"

Chris Eubank Jr is getting ready to step back into the ring for the first time since his win over Liam Smith last September.

The British middleweight has been busy outside the ropes, signing a new deal with BOXXER and Sky Sports. This partnership comes after plans for a fight with Canelo Alvarez fell through, with the Mexican choosing to face Edgar Berlanga instead.

Eubank Jr's return is set for October 12 against Kamil Szeremeta. The fight will be part of the undercard for the Artur Beterbiev-Dmitry Bivol event. Speaking to Boxing King Media, Eubank Jr explained his choice of opponent:

"This is a solid opponent, Kamil, to get back into the ring after a year off. Get the ring rust off before and then set up for these mega fights over the next twelve months."

Looking ahead, Eubank Jr has his sights set on big names and titles in the middleweight division. He shared his ambitious plans:

"There's a lot of names. A lot of names. My hit-list, I've said it. We want the Conor Benn fight, we want the Canelo fight, we want the [Billy Joe] Saunders fight. We want the [Erislandy] Lara fight. We want to fight for that middleweight world title. I think he's fighting [Danny] Garcia next, so we want the winner of that."

Erislandy Lara, the current WBA Middleweight Champion, will defend his title against Danny Garcia on September 14. Garcia, a two-weight world champion, will make his middleweight debut after a two-year break from the sport.

Eubank Jr's return to action and his list of potential opponents signal an exciting time for the middleweight division. Fans can look forward to seeing how his plans unfold in the coming months.
