Usyk Says He Wants to Help Polissya Reach the Champions League

Unified heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk commented on his appointment as the first vice president of Polissya.

“Look, we want to change a rotten system and build real sport — one that depends not on the decisions of people who think they can control everything, but on how the guys train and how hard they work, honestly. I accepted this offer with great respect, and we’re going to work on developing the club so it can reach the level of Europe’s top competitions — the Champions League and other European tournaments. Not just fight for the title here, but rise to a high level. Some people will say, ‘Come on, how are you going to do that?’ I’ve heard the same thing about myself too — that I wouldn’t make it — but Polissya will play in the Champions League,” Usyk said in an interview with the club’s channel.
