Karen Choukhajian (24-2, 13 KOs) has been named the official challenger for the IBF welterweight title held by Jaron Ennis (32-0, 29 KOs).

The American has already boxed with the Ukrainian. The first fight took place in January last year and ended with a confident victory of "Boots". At stake in the fight was a temporary IBF belt in the weight category up to 66 kilograms.

Since then, Chouhadjian has had three victorious fights. Eddie Hearn, who promotes Ennis, said he would try to postpone the mandatory defense because he would like a unification fight with WBC world champion Mario Barrios.
