Johnny Nelson: Mike Tyson vs Jake Paul "Could End Badly For One Of Them"

Mike Tyson and Jake Paul are getting ready to face off in the ring. The former heavyweight champ will meet the YouTuber-turned-boxer on November 15 at AT&T; Stadium in Texas.

Tyson's last professional fight was nearly twenty years ago. The 57-year-old did step back in the ring for an exhibition match against Roy Jones Jr in 2020, which ended in an official draw. He was set to fight Paul earlier this year on July 20, but had to pull out due to an ulcer flare-up.

Paul, on the other hand, has been active in the boxing world. He's racked up 10 wins and just 1 loss so far. In his most recent fight, he quickly showed he was a cut above Mike Perry, stopping him in the fifth round.

Johnny Nelson, the longest reigning cruiserweight world champion of all time, shared his thoughts on the match-up in an interview. He pointed out the huge experience gap between the two fighters:

"From day one I said for Mike Tyson, who's the same age as me, and everyone know's Mike Tyson's experience, what he's done, what he's achieved and Jake Paul doesn't even know what Mike Tyson's forgotten."

But Nelson also highlighted that age will play a big role:

"But the one thing you can't cheat, the one thing you can't buy, the one thing you can't own is time, Mike Tyson's best times are done. Even at the back end of his active career he knew he'd gone, his style suits a young active man, it suits a man in his twenties not a man that's 57 years old, a younger persons energy levels are going to be ten times more than mine, so no matter how much experience I have on them their energy is going to be too much for me and that will be the same here."

Nelson's advice to Tyson was clear:

"If it's about the money then go for it Mike, if that's what it's about, if it's anything other than the money then you're making a bad move."

The 30-year age gap between Tyson and Paul will likely be a deciding factor in the fight. Tyson's style, which worked so well in his prime, might not suit him at 57. Paul's youth and energy could give him a significant advantage.

Fans can watch the fight live on Netflix when it happens on November 15 at AT&T; Stadium in Texas.
