Despite a good main event of the evening and a solid undercard, the first American boxing night of the Riyadh Season series, scheduled for August 3 in Los Angeles, has yet to be a hit with fans.
Several thousand tickets are still available online for the event, the main event of which will be a fight for the interim WBO and WBA welterweight belt between Terence Crawford (40-0, 31 KOs) and Israil Madrimov (10-0-1, 7 KOs). The reason for the slower than expected pace of ticket distribution may be the price, as the cheapest tickets for the event cost $200. Perhaps some fans, counting on lower prices, are holding off on buying for now.
August night will feature, among other things, two interesting heavyweight fights - Andy Ruiz Jr. vs. Jarrell Miller and Martin Bakole vs. Jared Anderson. Other entertainment is also scheduled for the tournament, including a performance by rap star Eminem.
