Tonight's boxing night in Newark was headlined by a fight between Shakur Stevenson, WBC lightweight champion of the world, and Artem Harutyunyan. Representing Germany Arutyunyan from the first rounds tried to pressure Stevenson, to impose his boxing. However, Shakur worked well in the second and then began to work the first at times.

Harutyunyan tried to box Shakur, but failed. Stevenson was more accurate and worked well on his opponent's body, forcing him to stagger back.

The fight went allotted 12 rounds and predictably ended with the victory of the champion by unanimous decision of the judges: 119-109, 118-110 and 116-112 in favor of Shakur Stevenson.
