Islam Makhachev, UFC lightweight champion, has spoken out about Arman Tsarukyan and a possible rematch with him.
"I just asked to find me an opponent, and I think Arman should say thank you to me - I signed him to fight me and he was signed to the UFC. At that point I didn't know Arman at all, I didn't know what his style was, I hadn't even seen his fights - I thought he was just a debutant. And before the fight I had a story that we didn't find halal food and just ate fish. It was also a great experience for me, how to recover, what you can eat, what you can't. I won't say it was a close fight. Although many people talk about it, but I won every round, and Arman still muses about it, talks about a rematch. He's had the chance to step up many times already, and even now before UFC 302 he was the first to be asked to step up for the fight. But I think our fight is inevitable. In the near future we will close this issue."
