Georgian Guruli tried to bribe Russian representatives before the boxing final of the European Boxing Championships

"On the eve of the fight we were offered a large sum of money. They didn't want me to enter the ring. When they got the final answer, they said they would pursue this win at all costs. My strategy was to work from a distance so there was no opportunity to exchange punches. The Russian lost the first round by distance and I didn't think the judges had a choice, but they still gave him a 4-1 lead," Inside the Games quoted Guruli as saying.

It should be noted that Guruli did not go to the 3rd round in protest against unfair judging.
