Dubois wants a rematch with Usyk
"Now I want a rematch with Usyk!" - stated Daniel Dubois (22-2, 21 KOs), who entered the ring last night as the IBF heavyweight champion of the world, but a win over Anthony Joshua (28-4, 25 KOs) opened some eyes.
"I proved to all the doubters how wrong they were. I knew from the beginning that this was my night. The critics kept saying I was going to get knocked out, but you saw what happened and who knocked who out. This is still just the beginning of my journey. I feel like a champion and I want to keep that title for as long as possible. This past year has still been a growing and learning process. Tonight was like a dream, I just needed to seize the opportunity and the moment. So now I have my sights set on Usyk and Fury. I would especially like a rematch with Usyk, it would be a chance for my redemption. I'm a warrior, a real gladiator and now I have to use my full potential," Dubois stated.
"On this night I was unstoppable. Joshua could have thrown his entire arsenal at me and I would have stood for it. Now I'm the new king!" - Dubois added.
"I've always believed in this guy. This win opens up new possibilities. After the rematch on December 21, he can face both Usyk and Fury. We'll see what this rematch will bring. I believe Tyson will beat Usyk, but I would also like to see Daniel vs Usyk. I still say Daniel has already knocked out Usyk and that body kick was fair. I also believe he will beat him in the rematch," said Frank Warren, Dubois' promoter.
