Garcia stunned Haney with a left hook in the opening round, but Devin Haney was able to recover and then took the initiative. The fight was a bit chaotic, the fighters fouled a lot and often got into a clinch. Ryan picked up the pace again in the sixth round and dropped his opponent again in the seventh, but was later penalized a point for a punch after the stop command. The end of the fight was dictated by Haney, and in the tenth and eleventh rounds he scored two more knockdowns.
