Former world heavyweight champion Tony Bellew explained why he decided to hang up his gloves.
“My body stopped me. It's so unsafe. It is estimated that a professional boxer receives about 50,000 blows to the head per year. I've been hit on the head about 1.1 million times. At some point, this all makes itself felt. If tomorrow I end up in a coma due to missed shots, it’s my fault, I won’t sue anyone. I made the decision myself,” The Mirror quotes the Briton as saying.
Let us remember that Bellew retired after an early defeat to Aleksandar Usyk in 2018.
