Crawford: Benavidez ready to fight Alvarez

Former absolute world champion in two weight categories Terence Crawford shared his thoughts on a potential fight between the owner of all belts in the second middleweight Saul Alvarez and the owner of the WBC title in the same division David Benavidez.

“Benavidez is ready for the fight with Alvarez. He had an amazing fight against Andrade. He just needs to work on his defense a little bit, but otherwise he's fine. He is ruthless, pressing smartly. He attacks with a jab, throws straight punches, and works the upper and lower parts of the body.

Alvarez received a lot of criticism for his fight with Charlo. Jermell didn't show his best fight, considering his two-category jump. Many saw Saul's dominance in this fight, but I just think Jermell came out to check. He tried not to win, but not to lose by knockout.

It's all the business side of boxing. If the right conditions arise, my megafight with Canelo will take place,” Crawford said in an interview with Fight Hype.
