Haney will leave lightweight titles vacant

Alexandr Ormanji Nov. 30, 2023, 5:30 a.m.

Devin Haney announced that he was leaving the lightweight championship belts vacant and moving to junior welterweight.

ā€œI did everything I could in the 135 category. The most important thing for me was to organize a fight with Gervonta Davis, and his side showed no interest in this fight. Iā€™ve outgrown that division, so now Iā€™m moving up to 140 to become a two-weight champion,ā€ Haney said.

Let us remind you that on December 9, Devin will have to fight withĀ Regis Prograis, WBC junior welterweight champion.
