Benavidez ready to move up to light heavyweight for title fight

Jose Benavidez Sr., father and coach of the interim WBC super middleweight champion David Benavidez (28-0, 24 KO), spoke about his son’s future plans.

On the night of November 26 in Las Vegas, Benavidez won an early victory over Demetrius Andrade, becoming the WBC mandatory challenger for the undisputed division champion Saul Alvarez.

“If nothing works out in the up to 76.2 kg division, then we are ready to move up to light heavyweight and meet with Bivol or Beterbiev,” Benavidez Sr. said in an interview with Fight Hub TV.
