Tom Aspinall, the new interim UFC heavyweight champion, addressed the current division champion Jon Jones, asking to give him a fight.
“I don’t want to wait a year. But, to be honest, this fight is worth organizing. If I have to sit around for a year doing nothing, I will do it. I really, really want to fight Jones. Me vs Jones in the UK is a dream come true. This is ideal for all parties - for the UFC, for the fans. It's nice that Jones speaks well of me. It’s especially great that a person of such stature congratulated me. Thanks, John. And give me my dream fight. Let me now fight for my place in history,” Aspinall said.
